GENEVA – Batavia football players swarmed for swag Friday night from the Great American Rivalry Series, an endeavor born in 2004 that spotlights the top prep football rivalries nationwide.

While a trophy and caps bearing the series name went to the Bulldogs after routing Geneva 42-0 in DuKane Conference play, the sheer, sponsor-less bragging rights still permeated the post game huddle.

Controlling both lines of scrimmage, Batavia extended its series winning streak to nine games, the Bulldogs’ longest run since the schools began playing in 1913. The Bulldogs (5-1, 4-0 DuKane) earned their third straight shutout of the Vikings, with each coming by at least 41 points.
