YORKVILLE – Yorkville’s special teams hadn’t really done anything special this season.

That changed in a huge way during Friday’s Southwest Prairie West game against Oswego East. The Foxes blocked three punts and scored 30 unanswered points to earn a 30-7 victory and remain unbeaten.

“We’ve been harping on our special teams that they haven’t really made any plays, kind of tongue in cheek,” Foxes coach Dan McGuire said. “We really hadn’t done much on special teams up until today for whatever reason. I can’t tell you we came into the game expecting that to happen. We were able to get lucky and the kids persevered and laid out on a couple loose balls.”
