WHEATON — Alex Siebens remembers watching highlight videos of former DeKalb Barbs and current Northern Illinois University Huskie Cole Tucker playing for the Midwest Boom 7 on 7 team football, initiating Siebens' interest in improving himself that way.

Since becoming part of Midwest Boom, Siebens has challenged himself against some of the better athletes in the nation on the travel circuit. The difference in his game showed with the soon-to-be senior wideout hauling in catch after catch during DeKalb's games at the Red Grange Classic held at Wheaton Warrenville South Friday.

“I saw him (Tucker) on a bunch of mixtapes and I was like I see what they’re doing with him so I was like, I’m going to try becoming better at what I am," Siebens said. "I knew I wasn’t as quick and stuff I saw videos that could help you. I just wanted to get better.”
