About the Bulldogs: Batavia's offense is perhaps playing its best football of the season, rolling with Art Taylor and a now healthy Quinn Urwiler. Taylor had three touchdowns and 150 yards last week. Defensively, Josh Costello is having a breakout season as a first-year starter at defensive end. Costello has a team-high 7.5 sacks.

About the Indians: Hononegah appears to be a very balanced team, running for an average of 147 yards per game and 192 receiving yards. Quarterback Payton Mather completes 61% of his passes and is approaching nearly 2,000 yards. Rushing-wise, Christian Gomez has 16 rushing touchdowns and 931 yards on the ground.

Friday Night Drive pick: Batavia

Class 6A

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Forest

Advancement: The winner plays the winner of Kenwood/Deerfield.

About the Knights: Last week's 41-13 victory over Crystal Lake Central provided an excellent snapshot of Kaneland's season. The Knights ran for nearly 250 yards and limited their opponents to 44. Kaneland lost in the second round last season to eventual Class 6A champion Cary-Grove.

About the Scouts: Lake Forest escaped last week over third-seeded Belvidere North 21-14. The Scouts had a nice win over Stevenson to close the regular season and earn their fifth win for postseason eligibility.

FND pick: Kaneland

Class 5A

No. 2 Rockford Boylan (10-0) at No. 10 Marmion (7-3)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday at Marmion

Advancement: The winner plays the winner of Sycamore-Montini.

About the Titans: Boylan cruised to a NIC-10 conference title with a 9-0 regular season. The Titans have surrendered only 74 points on the season, holding every opponent to fewer than 20 points until last week's 34-23 win over Hyde Park.

About the Cadets: Marmion rolled over Amundsen last week 41-12. In 2017, Marmion lost in the second round to Sacred Heart-Griffin 45-14. The Cadets had all facets of the offense firing last week, passing for 132 yards and rushing for 208. Quarterback Padraig Fitzgerald threw for two touchdown passes, while Garrett Durian, Anthony Saltijeral and Major Haas rumbled on the ground.

FND pick: Rockford Boylan

Class 4A

No. 5 Genoa Kingston (9-1) at No. 4 St. Francis (9-1)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday at Naperville North High School

Advancement: The winner plays the winner of Coal City-Kewanee.

About the Cogs: Genoa-Kingston lost in the second round last season to Richmond-Burton 19-0. G-K has scored more than 40 points six times this season and continued its streak of winning at least one playoff game the past three years. G-K handled North Chicago 44-0 last week.

About the Spartans: The Spartans lost in the second round to Rockford Boylan last season 34-21. Starting quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse's availability remains a question mark after surgery on his non-throwing arm. If he still can't go, Michael Baffa has more than capably filled in. Against Clark last week, St. Francis dominated en route to a 45-0 win.

FND pick: St. Francis
