Orion (3-0) at Princeton (2-1)
Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.
Last meeting: Orion 28-7 (last year).
About Princeton: The Tigers rebounded nicely from a disappointing 25-21 loss at Sterling Newman in a game they led 21-10 at halftime by dismantling St. Bede 49-7 last week. Junior RB Ronde Worrels rushed for 4 touchdowns and 128 yards. ... PHS has never defeated Orion in seven previous meetings, including last year's loss in which the Tigers battled the No. 1 ranked Chargers to a 7-7 halftime tie. Chip Fuller has been Orion coach for all seven previous contests and says, "I know they (Princeton fans) are expecting some payback."
About Orion: The Chargers have turned the page on the Logan Lee era, who now plays for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Fuller said: "My team has adapted well to life without Logan ... kinda have to. You never replace a Logan Lee or a senior class like that. Graduation is a part of life at the high school level. You do your best to manage and hope kids step up when it's their time." ... The Chargers come off an impressive 19-0 shutout over Rockridge in TRAC Rock play. Returning to Princeton's Bryant Field for the second straight year for another TRAC crossover, Fuller says: "Princeton is really good. We are going to have to play the perfect game."
FND pick: Princeton.
Sterling Newman (3-0, 0-0) at Bureau Valley (0-3, 0-1)
Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.
Last meeting: Newman 75-14 (last year).
About Bureau Valley: The Storm are hopeful to get some injured players back, but won't know until later in the week, BV coach Mat Pistole said. Three two-way starters (Mac Nugent, Bryce Taylor and Tucker Hartz) did not play, and they lost another, James Macklin, by the end of the first quarter last week. Pistole said it makes it hard to sustain anything, missing eight (4 two-ways) of the team's 22 starters. But more than anything, Pistole said, "we just want to continue to get better at the little things. We need to tackle better and we need to block better. It seems very simplified, but that is really what we need to improve on and will continue to work our tails off to do so." ... Pistole was an assistant coach at Newman the past two years.
About Newman: The Comets call on the Storm for the second straight year at BV, having won 75-14 under the turbine last year. New this year for Newman is first-year head coach Brandon Krezcmer, who took over from longtime coach Mike Papoccia, who retired after 39 years. New BV head coach Mat Pistole was an assistant at Newman the past two years. Newman survived a scare last week at Kewanee, holding off the Boilermakers 27-26. Newman leads the all-time series with BV 9-6.
FND pick: Newman.

About the Panthers: Senior quarterback Eric Robinson, who is playing for the first time since freshman year, has come on strong as he threw for 72 yards and two touchdowns while running for 94 yards and a score last week. Hunter Oleson caught a TD pass and intercepted a pass last week.
FND pick: Hall
