Eastland-Pearl City used a 20-point third quarter to pull away from NUIC Northwest foe Galena
in Lanark on Friday night, as the Wildcatz stayed unbeaten and clinched a playoff spot with a 34-7 victory.

EPC senior Jayden Kempel rushed 20 times for 143 yards and three touchdowns. The Wildcatz racked up 306 yards on the ground, while quarterback Braden Smargiassi was 7-for-10 for 44 yards and an interception.

Lucas Peterson caught three passes for 21 yards. Addison Keltner led the Wildcatz’s defense with 10 tackles. EPC limited the Pirates to 85 yards of offense.

Colton Bauer carried 11 times for 38 yards to pace Galena’s rushing attack. Henry Anderson was intercepted twice by EPC defenders, and completed only three passes.

Riverdale 9, Morrison 7: The Rams kicked their way past the Mustangs in a TRAC Rock game at E.M. “Bud” Cole Field.

Morrison took a 7-6 lead with 6:36 left in the third quarter on a 12-yard touchdown run by Riley Wilkins. Logan Otto kicked a field goal in the first, second and third quarters for
Riverdale.

Orion 44, Fulton 7: The Steamers couldn’t keep up in a TRAC West road game against the Chargers.

River Ridge 6, Polo 0: The Marcos were shut out by the Wildcats in an NUIC Upstate matchup.

River Ridge scored the game’s lone touchdown with 7:10 left in the third quarter, as quarterback Jacob Speer hit Nick Parr for a 47-yard score.

Tucker Mumford racked up 104 yards from scrimmage for Polo. Braiden Soltow was 11-for-21 passing with two interceptions.

Dakota 34, West Carroll 12: The Thunder dug themselves a 15-0 hole after one quarter at home against the Indians, and weren’t able to overcome the deficit.

West Carroll cut it to 21-12 at the half, but couldn’t capitalize in the second half. Derek Tracy tossed a 44-yard touchdown pass to
Timothy Fosdick, and raced 33 yards for another score.

Trey Engelbrecht reached the end zone three times for Dakota.

Stockton 52, AFC 0: The Raiders suffered an NUIC Upstate loss in Franklin Grove.

The Blackhawks scored 30 points in the second quarter. Colin Dvorak had four total touchdowns – two rushing and two receiving – for Stockton. Quarterback Garrett Buske tossed three scores, Chase Rowe scored on a 25-yard run, and Bryant Keeffer returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown.
